This Version of the MFI FNH PS-90 M4 Fake Silencer is specifically made for the California Market to meet the CA DOJ minimum overall length of 30". This item differs from our regular PS-90 Fake Silencers in that it is longer and as such we do NOT have a flat area on the top for a Laser Engraving. Holes are CNC machined all the way around the outside. This reduces weight while allowing an added 3+ inch to accommodate the law. So this item is "Un-Marked / BLANK..
MFI has produced a legal version of the M4 Knights Armament Silencer (to meet current BATF specifications for a Fake Silencer / Non-Functional / Cosmetic Only ) here in the USA. MFI has been a Class II BAFT 07 Manufacturer + SOT & a DOD / Military Contractor so we have access to the real thing here to take measurements off of to assure as close a match as possible. The only areas where we deviate from the original in, is that the Depth of the holes are deeper to reduce weight and add a greater 3D effect and the lettering is changed slightly so as not to violate Knights Armament Intellectual Property Rights.

The PS-90 M4 Fake Silencer / Barrel Shroud fits the FNH PS 90 Carbines WITHOUT ANY MODIFICATION.
The PS-90 M4 Fake Silencer slides over your barrel and is held on by 4 nylon tipped set screws. The nylon tipped set screws will not dent your barrel as much as the steel tipped set screws do. This is High Temperature Nylon so they will NOT melt. If you want steel tipped set screws all you have to do is pull the nylon tips off.
Sliding anything over your barrel or using any type of set screw WILL leave a mark. If your are worried about marking or scratching your barrel, this product is NOT for you.
You can index / position the area without holes any where you like as the rotation of the outer body is stabilized / stopped by the set screws that makes contact with the hidden barrel.

Ammo Issues
SPECIAL NOTE ON 5.7 AMMO:
Extensive testing has shown that of the 3 commercially available 5.7 ammo that the SS197 is the PREFERRED munition to use.
The SS195 has proven to be EXCESSIVELY DIRTY and WILL cause massive fowling and carbon build up between the fake silencer and the flash suppressor of the PS90. While this is NOT dangerous to the user it does make getting the fake silencer very difficult to remove.
Even as few as 30 rounds of SS195 will result in this problem. If you use the SS195 and have this removable issue the best resolution is to remove the set screws and spray WD-40 or other lubricant into the holes (use a lot) and let it run down the barrel to the PS90 Flash Suppressor. Let it sit 5 to 10 minutes and then gently work the fake silencer free. WARNING trying to remove without lubricate could result in damage to the finish of the PS 90.
The SS196 ammunition has not yet been tested.
Please use the SS 197 ammunition:
We have fired over 300 rounds of the SS 197 at one time and have NOT run into any excessive carbine build up. We highly suggest that regardless of the ammunition that you choose to use that you test 15-20 rounds first and then check to see if the fake silencer moves freely or not. As you know we are not in control of what goes into any ammunition. Ammunition can vary form Lot to Lot as well.
MFI will NOT be modifying existing in stock product to allow use of the SS195. We are addressing this issue and will likely make some changes to any future production of this item if we find a suitable answer. In short it takes time to test all available ammo and be 100% sure of our final decision. The end result may also be similar to the SOCOM MK23 and SOCOM USP fake silencers in that the user may be limited to specific ammo for trouble free shooting.

If you need to lengthen your PS90 to 30 inches this is a great way to do it. I heartily recommend this product and MFI.
The fit and finish on the fake suppressor are excellent. It looks great on the gun.
The balance on the rifle still feels good and the extra weight is not really noticeable. The extra length does not seem too bothersome. I have not fired the rifle with the fake suppressor on yet.
The fake suppressor slips on easily and affixes with 4 nylon tipped set screws.
I chose the fake suppressor over lengthening the stock because the Trijicon scope I have on the rifle doesn't have enough eye relief to allow lengthening the stock.
Delivery was prompt and I was notified when the item was shipped.
Michael Frost, CEO of MFI, was extremely helpful with my concerns regarding the fake suppressor and moving to California.
