Fake Silencers are also known as: Dummy Can, Faux Suppressor, Mock Silencer, Barrel Shroud & Non Functional Sound Suppressor.
These are designed for LIVE FIRING.
We test all our Fake Silencers to be 100% sure that they function shot after shot without any problems.
This product fits NOT only the SIG Sauer Mosquito .22 Cal. LR, but we also offer FREE Re-Tapping of the small 9mm hole to the following larger thread patterns:

SPECIAL NOTE ON MARKING POSITION: All SOCOM fake silencer markings REGARDLESS of model / version will end up reading left to right from the right hand side of the weapon. (So if you see any photos of SOCOM Fake Silencers with lettering that reads any other way just note that those are obsolete photos.)
MFI has produced a legal version of the SOCOM Knights Armament Silencer (to meet current BATF specifications for a Fake Silencer / Non-Functional / Cosmetic Only ) here in the USA. MFI has been a Class II BAFT 07 Manufacturer + SOT & a DOD / Military Contractor so we have access to the real thing here to take measurements off of to assure as close a match as possible. The only area where we deviate from the original in the lettering is changed slightly so as not to violate Knights Armament Intellectual Property Rights. Everything else is almost identical to the real thing.

All MFI Barrel Shrouds / Fake Silencer / Mock Suppressors / Faux Silencers are 100% Cosmetic & have ZERO Function. Unlike true vented barrel shrouds / heat shields our products make NO CLAIM to any protection from heat that is generated from the barrel. As you fire, your barrel will heat up and that heat is directly transferred to the MFI Product. Therefore you should NEVER grab hold of the MFI Product if you have fired more than 5 rounds, as you WILL burn your hands.
The MFI M4 & SOCOM Style Fake Silencers do NOT reduce muzzle noise or muzzle flash in any way. So these are to the best of our knowledge 100% legal for the regular civilian to own in all 50 US States.
Obviously it would be impossible for any manufacturer to know every law / regulation / ordinance of every Country, State, County, City or Town on the planet. For this reason you the customer are required to research this issue to be sure you are within the laws of your specific location.

Materials of construction:
The Outer Body is entirely made out of Aircraft Grade Aluminum. To keep these as LIGHT WEIGHT as possible we use similar methods of construction as the real silencers. The Outer Tubes are made from stamped plate 6061 T-6 aircraft aluminum to allow the extreme radius on the end of the tube to be formed.
The End Cap with the knurled part extends into the outer tube and is PERMANENTLY ATTACHED to the outer tube thus complying with BATF in regards to NO ACCESS to the inner cavity / air gap. This end cap is CNC machined from billet 7170 T-6 aircraft aluminum to assure lightweight and durability.
The Inner Sleeve / Barrel Extension is made from Weapons Grade Steel to provide the longest life possible for live fire. Additionally the inner sleeve (which the bullet flies through un-obstructed) is sandwiched between the outer body exit hole and the knurled section. This allows the OUTER BODY to ROTATE 360 DEGREES around the inner barrel extension which, give you the ability to get the lettering in the correct position. Being sandwiched between two PERMANENTLY ATTACHED components keeps with the SPIRIT as well as the LETTER of the law.
Any tampering with this item to separate the two parts will result in the tearing / destruction of the outer tube. We deliberately use very thing aluminum for the tubes so that they basically self destruct if tampered with.

I need the added length for stupid law in Canada... I had MFI do a CUSTOM thread for my Canadian M1A and it went on without an issues and did exactly what I needed it to do... PLUS it looks so COOL!!!
