This adapter / barrel extension is weapons grade steel. The length is 254.65mm / 10.027 inches, which if permanently attached will give you about 16.375" of barrel (assuming you have a 7.00" barrel). This added length will give you the much-needed barrel length to make a 100% BATF legal rifle. It also qualifies as a 922r Compliant part.

NOTE: Even though the overall length of this adapter is 10.027" part of that is the threads. As you can only count the threaded area once (threads in the adapter overlap the threads on the barrel) the total ADDED LENGTH to any weapons system's barrel would be about 9.50". For example, a 7" barrel with this adapter will end up being only 16.375" long, so hair longer that what is required for BATF 16" legal length. The final length you end up with also depends on how long your threads are. So, when measuring, you measure from the shoulder where the threads bottom out on the barrel backwards to the bolt face. Do not count any threads on the barrel. Then subtract that number from 16" and that is your minimum length or extension required.

NOTE TO SHORTEN THE EXTENSION: If you want to shorten the adapter / barrel extension you can do so by trimming down the front end. The I.D. of the rear section for about 0.750" in length has a 5/8 X 24 thread (I.D. is about 0.486"), but just forward of the threaded area the I.D. of the extension expands to 0.692" wide. This accommodates any caliber up to and including .45 ACP with plenty of room for expanding gas so as not to cause bullet deflection upon point of impact. You can trim it yourself or have us "Custom Cut / Trim it to any length under 9.0". Contact me for a quote... generally it is about $50.00. If you do cut / trim the extension to a shorter length know that the front inside diameter of the shroud MUST seat against the front outer diameter of the barrel. This means that if you shorten the extension by 2 inches then you MUST have at least 2 inches of barrel to cover or the front of the extension will not rest against the front shoulder of the inside of the shroud.

So now you can turn your AR15 parts set or AR15 PDW Pistol into a legal semi rifle. This will fit any weapon with a 5/8 X 24 Right Hand Thread. The internal hole diameter that the bullet passes through is 0.692" in diameter. We made this large enough to keep the escaping gases from affecting the bullet trajectory. The larger hole size also helps keep the weight down. In the end this is much lighter than a long 16' barrel version. The weight of the product is only 5.8oz!

We deliberately made this adapter / barrel extension out of steel so it can easily be to meet BATF permanently attached criteria via MIG or TIG welding. Aluminum extensions are a bad idea as the heat exchange from firing will erode the inside of the aluminum extension very quickly, whereas steel lasts almost forever. All NFA & BATF Rules apply.
