All MFI Fake Silencers / Mock Suppressors / Faux Silencers vs. Barrel Shrouds

AB-1263 Clearly defines a “Barrel Shroud” as a device designed specifically to allow the user to grab hold of the “Barrel Shroud” (usually attached to a pistol) and that “Barrel Shroud” would shield / protect the users hands from the heat of the barrel by creating a significant air gap / cooling space between the barrel and the “Barrel Shroud” via holes or slots in the Barrel Shroud to allow venting of cool air between the actual barrel and barrel shroud.

To the untrained eye it would be easy to confuse, so let me explain in great detail.

I may use the term “Barrel Shroud” in the advertising, but in reality, or at least according to the CA DOJ’s and AB-1263’s definition all MFI Fake Silencers / Mock Suppressors / Faux Silencers are in fact NOT BARREL SHROUDS because:

All MFI Fake Silencers / Mock Suppressors / Faux Silencers are made of Aero-Space High Density SOLID 6061 T6 Aircraft Grade Aluminum which is used in by Boeing and SpaceX as a super heat sink / heat conductor.

Yes, some MFI Fake Silencers / Mock Suppressors / Faux Silencers like the SOCOM or M4 have recesses / tiny holes that are only 0.180” ID and do NOT go all the way through, they are shallow and some are used to hide set screws that make direct contact with the barrel. The through hole in a SOCOM or a M4 is generally less than 0.005” larger than the O.D. of the barrel for a very close fit. WARNING: These shallow indentations can also be the source of focused extreme heat like mini volcanos, so NEVER EVER place your hands over these holes, as it could scar you for life.

Most of our applications are for rifles so it would be impossible to reach the Fake Silencer unless you had unusually and freakishly long arms

Many (like 90%) of All MFI Fake Silencers / Mock Suppressors / Faux Silencers are being used or can be used to bring firearms in compliance with CA DOJ regulations as to OAL @ 30”, so technically these would be 100% exempt from AB-1263, as the item could never be used to create anything illegal and in fact the sole purpose is to comply with CA DOJ regulations.

All MFI Fake Silencers / Mock Suppressors / Faux Silencers attach DIRECTLY to the firearm’s barrel, Barrel shrouds generally do NOT attach to the barrel, but rather then receiver or hand guard.

CA DOJ… Bear with me, I have not had a chance to update all my web pages to reflect this new retarded law, so the use of “Barrel Shroud” may appear until I have had the chance to correct the nomenclature. I will continue to use this term regardless as the general public use Google to search for my product under this incorrect nomenclature.

General rule of thumb… All MFI Fake Silencers / Mock Suppressors / Faux Silencers (NOT A BARREL SHROUD) will get as hot if not hotter than your barrel.

I acknowledge that the item I am ordering while referred to as a “barrel shroud” (used for Google Searches) that this terms in 100% incorrect as it is not vented like real barrel shrouds, with large holes and air gaps to create protection from the heat of the barrel, but is in fact a solid metal heat sink that transfers the heat from the barrel directly to the outside surface and therefore should I grab this “Fake Silencers / Mock Suppressors / Faux Silencers (NOT A BARREL SHROUD)” it will in fact severely burn me and I HOLD HARMLESS MFI and all it’s representatives for any injury it may inflict upon me.
