If you are like me you hate the stupid ATI / GSG MP40 C-Clip / E-Clips used to secure one side of the takedown pin on the GSG MP40. Regardless of the damage these cause when you try to remove or reinstall them, they get lost easily and are hard to find the correct size replacements.

That has come to an end with the new MFI replacement take-down pin that only requires 2 standard flat screwdrivers to install or remove and will eliminate damaging or scratching the finish of your gun.

I made these WWII period correct with a shallow oval head with a single slotted through rod (one custom CNC machined piece from billet, not a rod with two screws), and an identical screw on the other side with a single slot for a flat head screw driver. There is no way to keep the rod from spinning so there are single slotted heads on both ends and you will need to place the gun between your legs and use a screw driver on both sides to tighten it. Still better than the e-clip crap.

So the “Oval” is in reference to the dome or top of the screw head. These are true custom and not standard Flat Head, Pan Head or Cheese head screws. I choose this shape as I am a collector and gunsmith of the older cool weapons platforms that use this type of head on their screws. For lack of a better analogy they are just sexier. I own a number of German and British sporting rifles from 1870 through 1935 and all use this type of screw head.
