This adapter / barrel extension is made of weapons grade steel.

NOTE: The overall length of any Barrel Extension includes the threads. As you can only count the threaded area once (threads in the adapter overlap the threads on the barrel) the total ADDED LENGTH to any weapons system's barrel would be about 0.700" LESS than the list OAL.

If you are trying to get to a BATF Legal 16" Barrel Length... So, when measuring, you measure from the shoulder where the threads bottom out on the barrel backwards to the bolt face. Do not count any threads on the barrel. Then subtract that number from 16" and that is your minimum length or extension required.

NOTE TO SHORTEN THE EXTENSION: If you want to shorten the adapter / barrel extension you can do so by trimming down the front end. The I.D. of the rear section is whatever the thread is, but just forward of the threaded area, which is about 0.750" in length)the I.D. of the extension expands to 0.692" wide. This accommodates any caliber up to and including .45 ACP with plenty of room for expanding gas so as not to cause bullet deflection upon point of impact. You can trim it yourself or have us "Custom Cut / Trim it to any length. Contact me for a quote... generally it is about $50.00. If you do cut / trim the extension to a shorter length know that the front inside diameter of the shroud MUST seat against the front outer diameter of the barrel. This means that if you shorten the extension by 2 inches then you MUST have at least 2 inches of barrel to cover or the front of the extension will not rest against the front shoulder of the inside of the shroud.

We deliberately made this adapter / barrel extension out of steel so it can easily be to meet BATF permanently attached criteria via MIG or TIG welding. Aluminum extensions are a bad idea as the heat exchange from firing will erode the inside of the aluminum extension very quickly, whereas steel lasts almost forever. All NFA & BATF Rules apply.

Fake Silencers are also known as: Dummy Can, Faux Suppressor, Mock Silencer, Barrel Shroud & Non-Functional Sound Suppressor.
