This is the latest version of the CA-3 / CETME Model C scope mount. I have added 2 additional set screws hidden in the slots. You do NOT need to use these set screws unless you have an elevation or depression issue. I have seen a few CA-3 receivers that cause a upward or downward slope, which does not allow the rail to sit flat and level on the top of the receiver. These set screws are to be use ONLY if that is the case, otherwise NEVER engage them.

Why did Century / PTR make a G3 without any recoil stop block? I best guess is that the part sets they used did not have them and maybe keep as close to the original Portuguese FMP G3 configuration.

Like the Spanish CETME Model C (CETME-C)the Century Arms CA 3 / CA-3 / CA3 lacks any way to mount an optic, until now. The MFI CA-3 scope mount is currently the only True Plug & Play Scope Mount on the market. This same mount should work on an original Portuguese FMP or any other G3 variant that doesn't have the recoil stop block, but does have a truncated recoil stop block shelf just in front of the rear sight as I included a cut out underneath just in case those parts set get used in the USA.

This mount fits ONLY the Century Arms / PTR CA3 & CETME-C style rifles WITHOUT the Recoil Stop Block, regardless of the style of rear sight. Please see the very last photo. In order to use this mount your weapon needs to look like "B" and NOT "A".

I would like to THANK all of you who suggested this project, sent me photos of your weapons to compare and especially the very select few who did the test fitting on their CA-3s. Not every weapon is the same, especially when it comes to stamped sheet metal clones. I will say that it was very smart of Century to have PTR make the receivers, as they are experts at this. This project would NOT have been possible without your help.

Contrary to what many may think... You can NOT put just ANY scope mount on a Century Arms CA3 / CA-3 or Spanish CETME C rifle that does not have the recoil stop block (see the last photo above) as the mount will eventually walk down the front of the receiver. So no matter if your mount is a B&T, MFI or Genuine HK it is the job of the recoil stop block to keep the mount in place.

HOW WE GOT TO THIS POINT:

I view all weapons as a tool and as such I look to make the most of my tool and investment. So we set out on this journey together to solve the scope mount problem on the CA-3. It took longer than expected as right in the middle of this RND, I came up with several new innovations / improvements to my existing Patented Mounting System.

I did not want to produce want would be an antiquated mount, so I stalled this project until the new mounting system was fully tested and ready to implement. Nothing worse than buying something only to find out that had we waited 6 to 8 months a better version would be available.

Additionally as the CA-3 market is a mystery as to how many were built and if it would even be continued, made this one off mount project likely not cost effective for the customer as that sort of thing ends up being double the retail price. I solved this economy of scale issue by making sure the new CA-3 mount also worked on the older CETME C model, thus allowing the market share to multiple by a factor of 100.

So, YES this mount will eventually replace the current CETME C / G3 model that I make. Those are on the web site and they are ON SALE @ $100.00, but that mount will NOT fit the CA-3.

So what are these New Innovations?

• After more than 2 decades of: 100,000+ mounts sold, RND / examining customers clones and testing on 100s of different models of G3 & MP5, I have come up with what I believe is the ultimate profile for the underside of all our new scope mounts, which allows our mounts to universally fit all the variations out there, no matter how out of spec they may be.
• You do NOT need to completely remove the screw / bolt to attach the scope mount. The Claw / Hook can have the bolt / screw attached as a single unit with the 4 claws / hooks very near the end of the thread on the bolt, allowing the claw to splay outward past the leg of the mount, then it can be slipped onto the weapon. So there is no more fumbling with a loose screw and trying to find the hole. No other scope mount for the HK MP5 / G3 series can do this.
• The above basically eliminates the possibility of cross threading the bolt or claw, as the screw never leaves the claw.
• We have switch to a Socket Head Cap Screw in lieu of the button heads we were using as they are 6 times stronger and thus are very hard to strip the Allan key socket.
• The 4 Set screws / one per leg on the mount allow for windage adjustment / an adjustable centering / perfect alignment of the mount with the center line of the weapon. It is almost unheard of in the weapons industry of a scope mount having any ability for the rail to be adjusted right or left for windage, this one does exactly that.
• The 4 Set screws allow adjustable tight fit regardless of out of spec. receiver. Meaning the set screws can take up any slack or looseness in the mount's body to allow a perfect fit to the receiver regardless of out of spec the receiver may be.

Like the CETME C project, I never like to have the customer modify the weapon, so the only option was to change the design of our scope mount. I knew from testing that the B&T and HK Claw mounts along with other after market junk either eventually walks it's way off the receiver or will not hold zero for long. Even our MFI mount which grabs the receiver in a different and more aggressive fashion than the aforementioned mounts began it's march after about 300 rounds. Zero was somewhat maintained, but that is NOT acceptable in my eyes.

The New CA-3 / CA3 / CETME C Mount mimics the features of our Latest Version Mounts. In that it has 2 WINDOWS / SLOTS cut in the top in order to see the Serial Numbers like one would find on HK MP5s, SW5s and Vector 53s. All of the aforementioned have serial numbers stamped on the top of the receivers. Even though the CA-3 & CETMEs do not have the serial numbers in this location, I left the SLOTS in as they just LOOK COOLER!

The MFI Low Profile CA3 / CETME C Slotted Scope Mount is the ONLY mount on the market that does not lose zero or move down the receiver.

I knew that this would be a labor of love and that it would likely never be a high production product like our regular HK Low Mount lineup is. Still I wanted to give back to a community that has been neglected, despised and ignore for far too long.

Note that the attachment mechanism is NOT a quick release style like found on the original HK mounts. We thought about using some sort of quick release but, as we have heard that the Original HK Mount in a tactical situation has been known to un-lock if you accidentally hit that paddle lever. It does take a little more time to mount these (2-3 minutes) but, once they are in place they will never accidentally un-lock.

Additionally we made these with the LOWEST PROFILE possible so that they do NOT interfere with the open / iron sites when a scope is not in place. The profile is so low that there is no reason to remove the mount once it has been attached to the weapon system as it does not interfere with any normal function or cleaning.

Lastly: 100% Picatinny / Mil. Spec. 1913 Correct. Meaning that your expensive LaRue or SWAN Throw Lever / Quick Release / ARMS Scope Rail Mount will lock 100% the way it was intended. We have seen the influx of hundreds foreign made mounts, rings, risers, rails etc. that claim to be Throw Lever compatible but, are NOT. This one is 100% COMPATIBLE!
